Civil Engineer

Civil Engineering Firm in Chicago seeking an engineering professional for an exciting opportunity as Civil Engineer in our growing Chicago office. The candidate will execute projects out of our Chicago area location. The successful candidate will apply their experience in civil engineering on a variety of projects.
Ideal candidate will:

Product Manager (Technical)

Job Duties

  • Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities.
  • Assess and address technical risks.
  • Understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems.
  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community.
  • Coordinate beta tests.
  • Use database queries to analyze performance indicators, evaluate experiments, etc.

Skill/Requirements

  • Experience in the Automotive retail/collision business is a huge plus.

Systems Admin I – Linux

Summary:The Systems Administrator I – Linux is responsible for supporting & maintaining the computer systems of GEODIS, to include providing Linux-based systems administration.

Primary Duties:

  • Provides tier 1 technical support within the Linux infrastructure and end-users as requested
  • Ensures incident/request queue meets the SLA requirements defined
  • Performs system testing and validation of Linux based Operating Systems
  • Monitors daily backups and/or processes to ensure data recoverability
  • Provides maintenance of routine data backups and troubleshooting
  • Performs periodic data restore testing and provides results to leadership and remediates accordingly
  • Assists with on-call support
  • Serves as initial point of contact for support on Linux level I system incidents

Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Summary:The Infrastructure Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the automation workloads for infrastructure components. This is to ensure stability and resiliency of the core infrastructure.
Primary Duties: Requirements:

  • Partner with teams that manage Servers, Storage, Networking and Data Center infrastructure to define the capability gaps that software can fill, and guide the architecture of those solutions
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure teams to Build, develop and maintain custom automation, monitoring and reporting tools
  • Develop automated solutions in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl, etc. and their application in automating manual and repetitive processes
  • Participate in automation initiatives that interface with our server & networking frameworks
  • Implement automation tools and framework, including configuration and deployment management systems
  • Creates playbooks and rehearse scenarios to ensure incident response to resolution meets customer requirements
  • Analyzes KPI’s of the system to measure performance and create solutions that improve performance, uptime, cost and stability of core systems
  • Interact with large-scale infrastructure system APIs or extension platforms from vendors like Dell EMC, VMware, Cisco, and others.
  • Maintain Enterprise automation and monitoring systems such as Automic, SolarWinds, Cisco DNAC, Prime.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in large 24×7 computing environments
  • Experience with enterprise tools like Automic, SolarWinds, Nagios or other monitoring tools preferred
  • Desire to code in multiple languages, like Python, GO, PowerShell/PowerCli, and JavaScript, being able to switch between languages at any given time and desire to learn new languages a must
  • Have a good understanding of networking (switching, dynamic routing protocols, static and rule-based routing, etc.) and communication protocols (REST, SNMP, SOAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge on Cisco tools like DNAC, Prime and Infoblox are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Visio, Excel, and Outlook

Network Engineer II

Summary:The Network Engineer II is responsible for supporting and engineering solutions for the Company’s core network infrastructure and devices.
Primary Duties:

  • Analyzes complex network issues and engineers’ solutions to meet business needs and maintain a reliable and stable network infrastructure
  • Notifies the networking team management of critical problems and issues
  • Participates in on-call duties according to rotation as well as participating in required after hours maintenance and disaster recovery exercises
  • Designs, implements and supports network routers, switches, firewalls, WiFi, VoIP, security, cabling, etc for time sensitive projects.
  • Guides and assists the support teams across the company with application issues when necessary
  • Documents design and complex support related issues, developing standards and creating step by step procedures
  • Participates in special project assignments with other teams
  • Prepares for and attends occasional weekly meetings for projects and status

Requirements:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university or Experience and Certifications equivalence.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a network implementation/support role
  • Minimum CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Association) level of networking knowledge and experience. CCNP is preferred.
  • Experience with QoS for LANs and WANs, Cisco ASA, IPSec VPN’s, SolarWinds Orion products, Design/Architectural Networks, Cisco datacenter switching with Catalyst or Nexus.
  • Familiar with Visio Design/Architectural network and understanding of a mixture of servers
  • High level of proficiency with firewalls, routing protocols, sub-netting, OSI-layered model, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, and Monitoring tools

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent customer support skills and experience in vendor management such as: working support cases with services partners or telecommunications providers
  • Excellent documentation skills in creation of policies and procedures as well as deep technical writing capabilities
